The Dutch Code of Civil Procedure contains rules on the evidential value of authentic instruments in Articles 156, 157, 159, and 160. For the purpose of the evidential value, Article 156(2) defines authentic instruments as acts (a signed document) which have been drafted in conformity with the requirements by a designated person who is qualified by law to report on those events that he has witnessed or has executed.
